What goes into a roof that lasts in the desert
Two roofs can look identical from the street and perform very differently after ten Arizona summers. The difference is in the layers you do not see:
- Underlayment. On tile roofs especially, the underlayment is the real waterproofing layer. We specify underlayment suited to the heat rather than the cheapest option — see underlayment for tile roofs.
- Flashing. Walls, chimneys, skylights, valleys and pipes are where roofs leak. New flashing is installed, not re-used.

What is the best roof for an Arizona home?
